SNP PROPOSALS IN TATTERS.

At the last but one meeting of the full Renfrewshire Council a nasty incident took place, during a debate Cllr. Nicolson of the SNP managed to insult a great many people in Renfrewshire by describing our Community Councils as "rotten to the core" he has tried since to deny this, substituting the word 'rotting' in a devious and desperate attempt to wriggle out of a mess of his own making.

Community council volunteers who give their time and commitment generously are rightly outraged by his insulting remarks, he should be ashamed of himself.

Fast forward to Tues. April 1St. 2 p.m. and the first meeting to set up the SNP's flagship policy of 'Area Committees' this, say the SNP is the way forward for proper democracy, despite the fact that tenants groups don't want them.

We then saw just how shambolic and inexperienced the SNP/Lib. Dem. administration really is at our meeting chaired by Cllr. B Lawson SNP.

We learned that despite all groups being encouraged to show an interest the optimum number of delegates would be 2 to each Cllr. that's 16 for us in Paisley North.

Unfortunately for the administration we had 30 groups who applied with more to come and even more embarrassing for the SNP/Lib. Dem. blunderers is that they have decided that delegates from community councils would be given priority so, if there are 8 community councils in that group of 30 the other 22 groups will be out, despite being invited to apply.

What kind of mendacity is this from the SNP/Lib. Dems. ?

"join us in our great Democratic crusade but, we won't let you take part"

What a dishonest farce by a coalition of inexperienced incompetents, the people of Renfrewshire deserve better.

The following are ruthlessly cast aside by the SNP/Lib. Dem. administration -

Tenants Associations, Residents Associations, Tenants/Residents Associations, Pensioner groups, Church Groups, Disabled Groups, Housing Associations, ? Youth Groups, Charities, Elderly Forums Etc. Etc.

To cap off this political chicanery we have the much maligned, hard working volunteers of the Community Councils being asked to serve. Yes ! that's correct, the same people ! the same Community Councils ! described by the SNP Deputy Provost Cllr. Nicolson as "rotten to the core" the SNP/Lib.Dem. cabal once again have shown their 'Janus Face' they have nothing but contempt for the people of Renfrewshire.

You are a disgrace Cllr Kelly. You and your party lie constantly to the people of Renfrewshire which is probably why you didn't get voted in at the election. Everyone will be able to participate at the Local Area Committees but not everyone needs to sit on the committee to do that! As for the new administration being inexperienced, I think they are doing a great job. They have shown more vision over the last year than Labour did in 27yrs! Like to see you come up with some good ideas instead of your constant moaning!

You really will not learn that this type of seditious and dishonest attack is going to get you into real trouble will you?

Terry;

So this event took place on April the first then did it?

Hmmmm.

How many "fools" were present?

Perhaps you are beginning to realise, what many of us have known for years:

The word "Democracy" is just a sham, it doesn't exist in its truest sense of the word anymore.

The biggest - strongest - and most powerful, always get their way.

Take the E.U.superstate, for example - ring any bells?

Labour Attack Poor and Vulnerable.
Herald 04/04/08
Here, Terry discuss something important for a change. you might be stil able to use the same two words you favour. Janus and Shame.

"Labour MPs raised their concerns that the abolition would hit the poorest in society at Monday's private party meeting in the Commons attended by Mr Brown. However, in what will be a worrying sign for the PM, some 26 yesterday made their revolt public by signing a new parliamentary motion. Two previous ones now each have totals of Labour MPs of around 40.
‘We are in danger of losing our core vote. Gordon is not listening’

In the latest motion, back benchers complain that "despite assurances to the contrary" many people were being made worse off by the abolition with a disproportionate effect on the poorest in society.

They add that they are "dismayed at the response to the plight of those adversely affected" and call on the Chancellor to "bring forward measures to correct this damaging change to the taxation system".

One of the signatories, Rosemary McKenna, the normally loyal MP for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East, made clear she had raised concerns over the abolition of the 10p rate months ago.

She said: "I'm extremely concerned that the lowest-paid in the public sector and pensioners on low incomes are being hit hard. We are attacking the poorest and it's just wrong."

If cutting the following is the Snp/Lib. Dems. Doing a great job you are welcome to them.

Elderly Wardens - Nurseries - Area Housing Offices - Libraries - Computer learning for those out of work - Community Education - Supported Study for Higher Candidates - £4.5 Million in education cuts - closure of Homeless facilities - price hikes for elderly in accommodation Etc. Etc. and this is them in only 10 months !

At the election we got 17 seats and the SNP got 17 seats and we took the largest share of the vote, you are obviously new to this, either that or you are not very smart, a nationalist I would think ?

Are you threatening me Mr. Anonymous ? Do you know that someone guilty of Sedition can still be executed by royal decree, do you reckon Betty. would do that ?

Is that what you’re getting at ? Perhaps I should put my affairs in order.

Bring it on I'm not afraid, I shall ascend the scaffold unbowed.

If you read my scribbles you will be aware that I am not without sympathy for what you say about ‘democracy and the E.U.’

Perhaps you could share your description of ‘true democracy’ with us ?

Your trust in the ‘Herald’ is touching.

I am confidant that we will protect the poor and needy in society, the SNP/Lib. Dem. Cabal in Renfrewshire are persecuting them.

Still blogging on council time Terry?

Why are you not out taking care of matters in your area instaed of sitting in front of yor computer dishing out your daily nonsense.

Why not try giving your constituents some value for money.

I am sure they didn't vote you in to be wasting your time and their money on this.

Re anon 03 5.26 PM.

I could not agree more.

It is refreshing to see an administration taking such initiatives as they are doing with the Arnotts building.

The Labour council were happy to see this lie as an eyesore on the town and if they had still been in power it is likely that it would stay that way for the next 27 years.

Freezing the council tax is also very welcome after the horrendous increases we have seen whilst Labour were in power. Particularly as Labour have allowed Paisley to become a ghost town and have done nothing to help regenerate it.

Whilst the new council have had to make some hard decisions, I am very confident that we are entering a new era and if the people of Renfrewshire have a little patience (after all Labour had 27 years to create the mess that we are now in), I feel positive we will see a better Renfrewshire for everyone.

This was the first election where I have not voted for Labour in 13 years and I feel this personal decision has been vindicated

Terry;

My description of democracy:

All major decisions that will effect peoples lives (at whatever level of Society), should be put to a public vote, where everyone, no matter what their status in life, can register their own input, in situations that will effect them personally.

In my opinion, Today, we too often bear witness to the hopeful faces of the people, draped over a rotting carcass beneath, that has no intention of listening too, or acting on the concerns of the public at large.

No political party, or Social ideology, is exempt from my criticisms. I used the E.U. debacle , as it served to underline my overriding point of view.

I don’t doubt you would be there Jack, with your knitting but, alas as you and I both know my constituents would not allow it, they would riot in the streets.

According to the Press. The administration are prepared to take a significant financial risk with tax payers money over Arnotts while cutting elderly wardens, closing nurseries, closing housing offices, libraries, massive cuts in education £4.5 million, supported study, Etc. Etc.

You seem to be very ill informed or maybe it’s just bias, or an inability to grasp what’s going on.

Dear oh dear - you can't even keep up with your own lies...initially you claim tenants groups dont want anything to do with the area committees and then you say that they asked to join...you really are a fat buffoon.....remind me again, when was the last time you were at a community council meeting - October last year? They do meet monthly you know.

what Terry and his dimwit cronies dont like is that good or bad this council is hyper active compared to the do nothing lethargy of his lot.

Labours entire efforts are committed to negativity and moaning hoping that the great unwashed will revolt and restore the previous regime.

go on Terry comment on one positive thing that the SNP/Lib cabal have done. go on just one, see how it feels

The people who were consulted gave it a no and they have been ignored.

This is the SNP’s version of local democracy ‘we don’t care what you say we will do it our way’

These people now are forced to go or be left out entirely, that’s what the SNP want.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 04/04/08
Well they have opened schools which were Labours, Nursing Homes which were labours, Renfrew Health Centre which was Labours, the new Council Building which was Labours, all of which they opposed and are now being photographed opening .

The hyper activity relates to their enthusiasm for closing nurseries, libraries, area offices, cutting services to the elderly and the Homeless, cutting £4.5 million from educating, reducing teachers jobs, cutting supported study, closing lap top training for the unemployed, increased charges across the board for elderly services Et, Etc.

You must be really proud of how the SNP/ L.D.s treat the people of Renfrewshire.

Your phrase "the great unwashed" sums up the attitude of the SNP/L.D.s to the people precisely.

The vast majority of your, and Labour, supporters are anything but 'ordinary people.'

You, me & McMurk all know that you and Labour are kept in power by immigrants and shiftless, workshy, benefit scroungers, terrified that a Tory government would have them off their butts and looking for employment.

I don't know about Renfrewshire but Community Councils where I live are a travesty. A total disgrace and just an extension of the ruling party trough.

My womens groups approached them for support to help us get lighting fixed in a dark walkway where a girl was raped. Firstly they didn't even know about this girl's case despite it being all over the local papers. Secondly we were told lighting the walkway would just attract 'neds and bams' and we'd do better to avoid it rather than 'piss money against the wall repairing the lighting'.

I'm certain that this isn't typical of all Community Councils but I'm very concerned about how these bodies are appointed.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(marcia) 10/04/08

The SNP described them as ‘rotten to the core’ and then said they wanted to limit delegates to their area committees to community council members
I.e. facing both ways. Sheer dishonesty.
