"THE FEW" TO WHOM WE OWE SO MUCH ARE HAVING THEIR MEMORIES BESMIRCHED'

My criticisms of our military leaders are continuing to prove accurate.
The Navy were made fools of over the Iran incident when 16 sailors were captured.
Not to be outdone the dolts who run the Army stepped up to the plate with the Prince Harry 'the hero' debacle.
And now the chinless fatheads who run the RAF have waded in with their own version of how not to run things with Prince Willie and his pal 'budgie the helicopter' these are the senior brass who run the military.
These people are responsible for the conduct and tactics of any military action taken by this country, god help us.

First Willie does a trip to London to pick up his brother Harry and then on to the Isle of Wight for a stag do with their chums using a Chinook Helicopter and then, using the same mode of transport he has a jolly good time flying to his girlfriend's home and showing off to her by landing and taking off on her drying green, what girl wouldn't be impressed by such daring ? what a dashing young idiot he is but, be fair, he knows how to enjoy himself. Remember two young members of the RAF died last week in Afghanistan while this outrageous behaviour goes on.

He isn't to blame, neither is Harry, the kind of young men they are is down to their family who could easily, if they had a grain of common sense put a stop to this stupidity, where does the fault lie ? step forward the privileged clowns who have always been at the very top of our armed forces, the people who are stupid enough to tell us and think that we are stupid enough to believe them, that Willie's joy riding was normal and part of his training.
When young men and women join the armed forces they put their trust and their lives in the hands of these incompetent nonentities, isn't war bad enough without allowing people like these to have an influence ?

The RAF suffered terrible losses as did other services during the war and continue to do so today and this farce besmirches the memory of the brave people who died in conflict, the behaviour of the Royals and the acquiescence of the forelock tugging 'brass' is an insult to them.
Not to mention the waste ! where are the voices complaining about lack of equipment, where have they gone ?

I grew up learning about brave legends like Guy Gibson of Dam Busters fame, Archie McKellar V.C. from Paisley, Leonard Cheshire V.C. who survived to run a string of homes for the wounded and Paddy Finnucane who "came over the seas from Ireland when our backs were to the wall" these and so many others made the supreme sacrifice, is it too much to ask for some dignity from our first family ?

You are, perhaps, a little sweeping in your condemnation, there are some excellent officers in the services even if it usually takes a war to find them, but in essence I agree absolutely with your remarks. And I can prove it because I wrote something similar over at my place, although, of course, I could not quite match your own inimitable style, Councillor - but there again, how many of us could?

This would be a travesty of writing and bigoted class envy if you weren't a public servant [sic]

In your list of heroes you forgot to mention the decorated Prince Philip...or did you in your rush to prove you are a bigot and small minded peasant?

No idea, but what's it like beating your breast all the time because you never did anything worthwhile, but convince yourself that you would have if only you'd been born to someone else?

It's called an inferiority complex, and you are a classic and chronic case.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

I don’t doubt that I am inferior to many people but none of them are Royal.

Of course if I’d been born to someone else I could have been a Royal and then ‘boot lickers’ like you would look up to me.

Please explain the difference between your daughter, Rayleen, borrowing your car and HRH borrowing one of Granny's helicopters?

I mean, both your car and HM's helicopter are financed from the public purse, aren't they?

Terry,

Just did a quick note of how you have spent your morning.

You have obviously been sitting on your computer all morning on your blog as between the hours of 9.24 AM and 11.29 AM you have made a total of 20 post/replies some of which are very lengthy.

Is this what your constituents are paying you for and what they voted you in for?

How do you justify this when there are so many important issues that need attention whilst you are sitting playing on your computer, collecting your salary and laughing in

You are a shameful waste of money!

I wonder if you will post this or will have a reply?

Two points.

First is your despicable use of the deaths of two RAF men without even reading their stories. Did you even make it past the headline? I only ask because one of the "young" servicemen who died was middle aged with grown up children who have been through uni. Showing that while you pontificate you simply don't care enough about the servicemen even to find out basic details about them. They serve your purpose simply by dying - what more do you need. You are contemptible.

The other fact is that RAF pilots do this all the time. They have to maintain their hours and frequently do by taking their aircraft for personal "trips".

The MRAF at Whitehall sports a pair of wings. He can only do that by maintaining his logbook. Something he cannot do in London or flying combat missions. He does this by taking military aircraft for "training flights" that will also have a social function.

It is just that William is tabloid fodder that you hear about this. The real story as someone else has pointed out was the stupid idea of having the 2nd and 3rd in line on the same aircraft. Something that is avoided at all costs normally.

Of course you would welcome the Chinook coming down with both of them on board wouldn't you?

Macnasty said...

Kelly @ 11.17
Oh dear young Terry. Linking the RAF deaths in Afghanistan to my comments is a new low even by your spectacular standards.

To save any misunderstanding, I am ex RAF and I always buy a poppy on Remembrance Day.

You, on the other hand are not ex service and neither do you put your hand in your pocket for Remembrance Sunday.

Given those two facts, any attack by you on the subject of honouring servicemen is akin to the Krankies giving Ken Dodd advice on comedy.

Ewan Bliar?

The sad truth is that the Royals inherited what they have, and why not? Everyone inherits, some get lots, some get little...aren't you an envious little class warrior eh? (warrior in the rhetorical sense of course...we wouldn't find you actually near a front line would we?)

Andy said...

Terry, your basic point is well made, and I agree (my dad was an RAF pilot in WW2), but if only you could make that point without the class envy (very 70's and a bit dull). We do know, after all, that the Queen is cheaper than any politically motivated President would be (especially Blair ..)

ShrekBall said...

Have you ever considered that those calling for heads are the hypocrites? They know this goes on. I have spoken to pilots who have told me this goes on.

The fact they are now having to explain why William was able to do this is uncomfortable and instead of saying "yes, this is normal if wasteful" they have called for discipline is very amusing. The fact you have fallen for it is doubly amusing. And you like to tell us you don't believe everything you read!!!!!

So can you please confirm councillor, that you would actively welcome the death of members of the royal family? No spin or bluster, a simple yes or no will suffice.

Congratulations on yet another post attacking the military, especially when we've established you have absolutely no knowledge or experience of military matters.

Shameful from one who claims such moral high ground.

This would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

You, a public servant, are vindictively exploiting the deaths of soldiers who you effectively sent to their deaths to support your petty ideology and own petty bigotry, and seek to hide that by accusing people who have genuine concern and would not have sent them in the first place.

You have blood on your hands, many many thousands of dead peoples blood. But you feel no shame do you? No you don't, simply because your political masters killed them by proxy for you and you are too shallow and small a person to stand up and object.

You are lower than the lowest scum.

Putting on a uniform does not make a thick person clever and some will be clever and some not, just look at the senior brass, some will be brave and some will be cowards, a uniform doesn’t change that either.

The people I know who have pledged loyalty to the crown regard it as meaningless, and so do I.
