"IT'S TOMMY THIS AN IT'S TOMMY THAT"

Here's something from someone who shared my opinion of our incompetent military rulers and this guy knew a thing or two about soldiering.

Soldiers talking about an old buffer who happened to be a general.

Now the soldiers he smiled at are most of em dead,
And we're cursing his staff for incompetent swine.
'He's a cheery old card,' grunted Harry to Jack.
As they slogged up to Arras with rifle and pack.

But he did for them both with his plan of attack. (Siegfried Sassoon)

Golly Terry - Two of the gentry, Kipling and Sassoon, in the same post, bang goes the Kelly street cred.

Now, regarding your sympathy for the Poor Bloody Infantry, how about making a wee donation to the Gurkha Benevolent Fund and signing the Downing St petition to allow them to stay in the UK?

After all, the brigade did look after Prince Harry and that has to be worth the Kelly support.

Terry;

Yet another reasonable post, whats going on?

We have no right to question the words of Siegfried Sassoon.

He experienced the carnage and hell of the "great war", we did'nt.

And yes, alot of his so called "leaders" were utter buffoons, who caused the deaths of countless innocents, for no other reason than to play their sick and sadistic war games.

But tell me.....

You had a lobotomy or something?

Because agreeing with you is freaking me out.....

The Gurkhas were bought by Britain to fight for us, then discarded and treated like any other commodity. They are now being badly treated, so what’s new ? It’s called capitalism.

Despite all that they have my sympathy, my old man thought they were ‘great wee guys’ and he was grateful they were his comrades rather than his enemies.

Consider it part of your education.

Terry, I already know the Gurkha's history and agree that their treatment is a disgrace.

My point is: Are you prepared to add the Gurkha Benevolent Fund to your list of supportable charities and are you prepared to sign the petition, allowing them and their families to stay in the UK?

The Gurkhas should not need a benevolent fund, the same as wounded military people shouldn’t need a poppy day.

If they want to stay here and they are ex soldiers they should have that right, I don’t know about their petition.

Kelly @ 7.01

I totally agree - the Gurkhas should not need a benevolent fund, but sadly, they do.

The petition is on the Downing St website

But what about the Indian Gurkha Regiments Terry. Are they exploited by their Indian paymasters?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

The need for that fund should be removed, a benevolent fund postpones that day, the same as poppy appeals postpone the day that wounded ex military people are treated properly.

I will look for the petition, read it and decide whether to sign it, being championed by people like you gets it off to a bad start.

I don’t know, perhaps you could tell me. Whether they are or not makes no difference to the situation of the Gurkhas who are being exploited by us.

Kelly, what an unpleasantly odious creep you are....but still good fun.

Now, sign the petition.

“Kelly, what an unpleasantly odious creep you are”

When someone describes me thus, I can’t help thinking that there is something a bit insincere about their request for me to sign a petition.

Would you want someone like me to sign up to the same cause as you ? Have you no feeling of self worth at all ?

Macnasty said...

Kelly @ 7.42

Kelly, I was sincere in both the description and my wish for you to do at least one thing you could be proud of.

Now, sign the petition you unpleasantly odious creep.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

I’ve made an enemy of you, that’s something to be proud of.

Kelly @ 8.31
Councillor, you haven't made an enemy of me, anymore than Oliver Hardy made an enemy of Stan Laurel or Ernie Wise ot Eric Morecambe - you're simply the straight man.

Adversity makes strange bedfellows, so please don't let your distrust of me stop you from signing the Gurkha petition. After all, Bonny Winston made a pact with Russia, despite knowing that Uncle Joe was a homicidal maniac.

Go for it Big Man,sign up and we'll resume hostilities later.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Macnasty) 28/03/08

You are indeed an enemy and not nearly as clever as you think.

Uncle Joe saw Winston as a role model.

Macnasty said...

Terry,
Be a good lad and just sign the Gurkha petition - it's still on the Downing St website - and I promise there will be no more Mr Niceguy, I'll resume hostilities soonest.

If you are really that concerned about the Gurkhas I’ll do a deal.

I.D. yourself and I’ll sign, just think of those poor soldiers who need my signature, you know it’s the right thing to do.

Macnasty said...

Kelly @ 1.54
Terry, Dear Lad,
I.D. myself indeed!! And after you've already banned me twice?

I'm running out of nom de plumes, so your chances of getting my ID are really not that high.

Just sign up and help the Gurkhas

That didn’t take long did it ?

Poor old Gurkhas eh, with friends like you etc.
